Mediterranean Meza – La Mediterranee
Featured here is the Mediterranean Meza ($16.50 per person, minimum 2 must be ordered). It consists of an assortment of 10 house specialties and appetizers including Lamb Lule, Dolma, Hummus, Baba Ghanoush, Armenian Potato Salad, Tabuleh, Chicken Cilicia, Grecian Spinach & Feta Fillo, Levant Sandwich, and Chicken Pomegranate (all on small dishes, to be shared) and complementary pita bread. (not sure what the red wine was anymore)
This place gets really crowded, and they don’t take reservations (unless you have a party of 6 or more I think?), so it’s best to come early. The service could be improved – a lot of times, it’s quite difficult to get the attention of the waiters unless your food is arriving.
However, the food is amazing, so refreshing! From the tender lamb and pomegranate chicken to the smooth hummus and sweet dolmas, everything tastes incredibly fresh and full of flavor! You can taste the different types of herbs that have been well blended together (though I’m no connoisseur in cooking so I can’t tell what the exact ingredients are, I only know that there are multiple interesting combinations involved). It’s like dim sum but Mediterranean style; it’s nice to try such a huge variety of samples. An absolute must.
