Non-Spicy Spicy Miso Ramen – Shalala

I had the Spicy Miso Ramen, but non-spicy…just thought I’d try their most popular menu item, but I heard that their so-called “mild” is not truly mild. Miso is added to a tonkatsu broth base, comes with bamboo shoots, fishcake, mushroom, seaweed, sesame seeds, corn, green onion, hard-boiled egg, and pork, approx. $9. Ramen ended up being mild, especially toward the bottom of the bowl. Noodles were thick and chewy, but not quite in a bad way. Broth is on the heavy side though. Overall, not amazing, but pretty good. Waitresses look like they’re in high school. Small venue, seating is a little cramped. No line when I came for dinner around 7pm on a Thursday.
