Galbi – Songpa Yukejang
Not sure how to pronounce the name of this place, but decided to try it out. Ordered lunch for a large group, to-go. For 15 orders of Galbi, 1 order of Bibimbap, 1 order of Chicken, and 3 orders of Seafood Pancake, it took about 30-40 minutes to be prepared. Originally, I asked for 5 Seafood Pancakes, unsure of how small each one would be. But I needed the order to be ready in 30-40 minutes, so the guy on the phone immediately replied, “Nooo…Seafood Pancake take too long,” then said I could order 3 instead, considering the time-frame. Apparently each one takes approx 15 minutes to prepare.
I had the Galbi (marinated beef short ribs in Korean sauce, $10.99) and Seafood Pancake ($13.99). There were only about 6 small pieces for the Galbi, and some of the pieces were mostly composed of fat, but the pieces were juicy and sweet. The Seafood Pancake was really thick and large in portion, but not too much seafood included. It’s nice that the pancake is pre-cut for sharing, but too floury. From what I could tell, it included long strands of red bell pepper, plenty of green onion, chewy pieces of squid and octopus, and if you’re lucky, a couple small pieces of shrimp.
