Came here about 5 minutes for breakfast prior to opening and was kindly allowed in. I was surprised to see that there were already a few customers inside, likely regulars. This is your classic diner, but it’s quite popular. It began filling up very quickly after opening, as if everyone came daily and had their own unofficial seat. Breakfast served all day (they close in the afternoon).
You can watch the chef making your meal. And while you’re waiting for your meal, you’ll notice that the customers are super friendly. When they finish reading their newspaper, they pass it along to a neighboring customer. I even witnessed a customer split his sausage in half, sharing one half to a guy on his right, and the remaining half to the guy on his left! So much love.
Hot chocolate is made the old fashioned way, with lots of froth. The server was nice enough to provide me with 2 cups, instead of throwing out the extra. The Veggie Omelette (mushrooms, tomatoes, spinach, onions, and cheese for $9.95) is very fluffy and is served with hash brown and toast. Hash browns are perfect. I couldn’t manage to finish the toast, but I hear the bread and jam are all homemade. I was definitely full, though the mushrooms and tomatoes taste like they came from a can.
