Super Mini – Iguanas
First off, this place is a deep shade of PURPLE. It doesn’t quite shout Mexican food from the outside…but don’t let it fool you. It’s a popular place in the area, especially amongst SJSU students. Outside seating is available if it gets too crowded inside. They are known for their orange sauce and Burritozilla (5lb, 18″ Monstrous Burrito). Since I wasn’t hungry enough to eat a whole cow, I opted for a smaller burrito, the Super Mini, to be exact. It’s a smaller version of the Super Burrito, which includes: choice of meat (I went with carne asada), beans (I had black beans), rice, salsa, sour cream, guacamole, and cheese – all for only $5.50. Turns out, it was the perfect sized burrito for me. Don’t be fooled, it’s not super tiny. It’s a decently sized burrito. The Super Burrito is NOT twice as big; in fact, it’s not that much longer.
I noticed all the other customers requesting 2 containers of hot sauce, so of course, I had to request 2 myself! Turns out, it was the famous orange sauce. Be warned, drizzle a bit onto your burrito first, then decide if you can handle the level of spiciness. It tastes like nacho sauce with a peppery kick. As for the burrito, it’s much like the average burrito, but considering the cheap price, it’s quite filling and delicious!
