Q Shack

This place was recommended to me as one of the best BBQ spots in Durham, in terms of both price and taste. After trying this place for myself, I would agree!

I had the Chile Rubbed Beef Brisket Plate with sides of Fried Okra and Jack Cheese Creamed Spinach, served with about 10 hush puppies for $11.50. The okra was a tad too salty, and the spinach was more mushy than creamy, but the meat was spot on. I also tried the 2 Meat Combo of Smoked Pork Butt and St. Louis Cut Pork Ribs (3) with sides of Mac and Cheese and Collard Greens, served with hush puppies for $13.95. Again, the sides are okay, but the meats are definitely the stars of the show here. Tender and flavorful meats.

Don’t go in expecting something fancy, like The Pit. It’s a very relaxed, casual atmosphere, and a small venue. I have also had their catering, and it is just as good. If you’re looking for a quick and simple, but delicious BBQ spot in Durham, this is it.
