Came here for lunch. They have a lovely display of all the available meal options to help you decide what to order. They’re not the fanciest meals. In fact, I didn’t think they looked impressive at all, but don’t let that deter you!
I had the Beef, Lamb, and Guinness Stew, which is served in a warm bread bowl with green onions and chunky vegetables including carrots, potatoes, squash, and lentils with a salad on the side for $13.49. The bread bowl looked cold and hard/chewy, but much to my surprise, it was warm and soft! The stew itself was fantastic too! The meat was very tender, and I loved the size of the chunky veggies. Great flavor! The salad wasn’t anything spectacular, but it was nice to have it as a side.
I had already tried Butterbeer (frozen) and absolutely loved it, but I wanted something plain this time, especially since all the menu items were so expensive, including the drinks. I picked the Otter’s Fizzy Orange Juice ($4.99) and expected nothing more than carbonated orange juice, but I was surprised again! This drink was like a fancy version of orange juice. It was served with a rim of cinnamon sugar and an orange slice. That cinnamon made a HUGE difference and greatly enhanced the drink! It tasted like a Christmas beverage. I absolutely loved it!
While my meal was tasty (don’t judge the food by how it looks!), this place is a must simply for the enjoyment of the venue. They did an excellent job recreating the place to closely match The Leaky Cauldron in the movies. The seating area is like a dining hall. The ordering area looks a bit of a mess with lines at various registers. The staff are quick at cleaning up the tables and many try to stay in character during brief conversations with customers.
